We were pleasantly surprised by the peaceful and serene atmosphere surrounding Te Mata Lodge. Sitting on the deck, listening to the beautiful birdsong and watching the chickens visit was an awesome experience. The river was a lovely place to swim in and the owners were incredibly nice and helpful. we had a fantastic time at this hidden gem of a retreat.
The only drawback we encountered was the uncomfortable sofa, but that was a minor inconvenience compared to all the positives.

I had a wonderful time at this luxurious and comfortable hotel. The location, nestled amongst the trees in a beautiful valley, provided a peaceful and serene atmosphere. The hotel's proximity to the coast allowed for easy access to the beach and stunning views of the Firth of Thames. The hotel staff were attentive and friendly, providing excellent service from room service to laundry facilities. The room amenities were top-notch, with everything I needed including ironing facilities, a sitting area, and a dining table. The shared kitchen was well-equipped with cookware and utensils, making it convenient to prepare meals. The electric blankets and heating ensured a cozy and comfortable stay. this place exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend it to others.

This retreat was a pleasant surprise on my business trip. the hosts were very friendly and attentive, providing a welcome booklet that was very informative. I particularly enjoyed the resident glow worms by the stream, a truly magical experience. the location was perfect for me, offering easy access to kayaking, swimming, and other fun activities that helped me unwind after a long day at work.
Although the accommodation was comfortable, I felt the price was a bit steep given the rough access and the age of the property. the internet access was poor, which was a bit of an inconvenience for me as a business traveler.

The location of this lodge is perfect! You are in the middle of nature surrounded by lush forests and rivers, yet only a short drive away from all the main attractions of the area. The owners are incredibly hospitable and provide so many amazing amenities like free use of kayaks and paddles, and having a river and park BBQ area available is a huge plus. , the free Wi-Fi provided is super fast and ideal for those who need it for work or streaming movies.
Although the location is fantastic, the access to the property is challenging and requires some skill with gravel roads if you are driving. , although the staff are very accommodating, the cost of the lodge may seem a bit steep given the age of the property and the limited access to internet.
