We were pleasantly surprised by the peaceful and serene atmosphere surrounding Te Mata Lodge. Sitting on the deck, listening to the beautiful birdsong and watching the chickens visit was an awesome experience. The river was a lovely place to swim in and the owners were incredibly nice and helpful. we had a fantastic time at this hidden gem of a retreat.

The only drawback we encountered was the uncomfortable sofa, but that was a minor inconvenience compared to all the positives.

Friendly staff, informative welcome booklet, impressive owner's hospitality, beautiful setting by the river, spacious cottage.

The owners are incredibly hospitable and provide so many amazing amenities like free use of kayaks and paddles, and having a river and park BBQ area available is a huge plus. , the free Wi-Fi provided is super fast and ideal for those who need it for work or streaming movies.
